Saturday, 11 August 2012 at 23:00I cannot keep my fast for this time and I feel horrible, the timing is such that they have to be taken during the day. Is this a reasonable excuse to not fast?? I can always make up my fast or feed someone poor for each day I miss. Can I also give money to the mosque for every day I miss if so how much is a good amount?
I feel very bad that I cannot fast I still get up in the mornings to give food to my husband and my mom, I pray all my namaz's but feel empty without fast. Please advise? is this my fault?Tags:Read more about I have a question for you on fasting. I recently fell down a half of a flight of stairs and I tore my Meniscus in my knee. I am a Mailman and I love my job very much.0Rating:

Saturday, 11 August 2012 at 23:01I am scheduled to have surgery on August 7th insha'allah. my question to you is that I am going to have the surgery in the last third of Ramadan. Obviously I won't be able to fast to to different medications and stuff that I must take to fully recover. But I'm in immense pain right now and I was prescribed pain medication and the doctor also asked me to take a joint support supplement in the meantime. Needless to say I haven't taken any pain medicine or joint support medication since Ramadan started. Should I continue to fast or should I not fast and do what the doctor asked. My doctor is also a Muslim but not a scholar or learned such as yourself. I'm supposed to take the medication every 6 hours as directed. Please help me Shaykh.

I am a muslim woman, can I marry a christian man w/o him converting5Rating:

Sunday, 8 July 2012 at 08:31Answer:
The Muslim woman is not eligible to marry a non Muslim man because of the religious responsibility that the husband in Islam is expected to bear. In Islam the husband must respect the religion of his wife even if she does not share his religious convictions. He has no right to prevent her from her own ritual worship or deprive her from going to her houses of worship like the church or the synagogue. Also the husband in Islam has no right whether implicitly or explicitly to convince let alone force his non Muslim wife to convert to Islam. All these religious responsibilities are asked by the Muslim husband towards his non Muslim wife and for this reason the non Muslim woman should not be afraid of getting married to a Muslim man because he is asked by his own religion to respect her religious beliefs. Also Islam as a religion believes in the divine origin of Christianity and Judaism and a lot of common values are shared among the three Abrahamic faiths. Also Muslims hold and revere both Moses and Jesus and believe in them as prophets of God. All this religious background that the Muslim husband has, gives immense assurance for the non Muslim wife that her religion will remain intact without any potential jeopardy....

My civil divorce was finalized in US on May 2011 My ex-husband divorced me religiously verbally but refused to document that in Jordan where our marriage took place. What should I do to be able to obtain a proof of my religious divorce in Jordan? 0Rating:

Sunday, 8 July 2012 at 08:36Answer:
Legally speaking the right to divorce is entitled to the husband in the original state of the matter. So he has the right to terminate the marriage contract by divorcing the wife. The majority of jurists recommended the presence of witnesses and based on this recommendation non Muslims are allowed to be the witnesses of this divorce. The reason behind the allowance of non Muslims to act as witnesses of divorce is that they are not initiating the divorce nor have a legal authority over the husband. They merely stand as witnesses to prove that this divorce occurred in their presence...

Can a women put nail polish and do namaz or enter masjib?0Rating:

Tuesday, 8 May 2012 at 07:10There is nothing wrong with putting nail polish after ablution and pray with it but once the ablution is broken legally speaking the women is not able to perform ablution until she erases the nail polish first. The reason behind erasing nail polish before ablution is that the nail polish forms a layer which prevents water from reaching the nails.

Tuesday, 8 May 2012 at 06:43Islam treats men and women equally in regards to the right to choose a mate. It has not given parents the authority to compel them [to marry someone]. The parents’ role in marrying off their children is manifested in giving advice, direction, and guidance; they do not have the right to force their children, whether they are sons or daughters, to marry someone they do not want to marry. The final say in this belongs to the children themselves....

My husband and I got married 10 months ago and although alhumdulli Allah in general we are happy together, we conflict greatly on the issue of housing situation and the involvement of in-laws. We are currently living alone but my husband wants to move in 0Rating:

Tuesday, 8 May 2012 at 07:02According to Islamic law, the wife has the right of having an independent marital house separate from the in- laws. Therefore, the husband has no right to force his wife to give up her right and move in with his parents especially if she foresees damage in her marital relationship because of the interference of her in- laws in their lives.

Tuesday, 8 May 2012 at 07:11The hijab for a Muslim woman is obligatory once she reaches puberty. This is the consensus of the religious scholars of the Ummah. The prophet Muhammad said “there is no obedience to a creature if it is seen as disobedience in the sight of the Creator”. In other words, your husband has no right to ask you to take off your hijab from the legal perspective. Therefore, according to the Islamic law you are not obliged to abide by his request.....

I am a turkish-muslim female and have a catholic boyfriend, he is looking to convert but wants to know more about Islam before he goes through the process. Where should we begin? 0Rating:

Tuesday, 14 February 2012 at 06:56The word “Muslim” means one who submits to the will of God, regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background. Becoming a Muslim is a simple and easy process that requires no pre-requisites.
I would recommend that you should buy for him a few introductory books about Islam. A good book is what everyone should know about Islam and Muslims by Suzanne Hanif published by Kazi publications in Chicago.
If anyone has a real desire to be a Muslim and has full conviction and strong belief that Islam is the true religion of God, then, all one needs to do is pronounce the “Shahada”, the testimony of faith, without further delay. The “Shahada” is the first and most important of the five pillars of Islam....

Wednesday, 15 February 2012 at 08:04No, it is not indispensable for the imam to be the one who makes the Adhan. Rather, the Adhan is a mechanism whereby the Muslim is able to declare his Aqidah (Islamic faith) five times a day—and in actual terms is a call made by the muezzin to inform others that the time for a fard salah has begun. The Adhan is sunnah—however,....
